Continuing with the second part of the article. So far, in the first part, we have learned about the importance of page speed.

Why is your Page Speed is Very Low?

  1. Poor Choice of Web Hosting

The website’s page speed is dependent on the web hosting company. For instance, if the server doesn’t have many resources, then the page speed would be much slower. To avoid such things, you must hire a search engine optimization company that will help you in getting the perfect host that will also be relevant to your business size.

  1. Unoptimized Browser and Apps

Some applications are not compatible with your mobile devices, such as flash, and some browsers too will lead your mobile device to work slow, like Google Chrome doesn’t go with a few plugins. This means, if you are a website owner then you must check your website’s page speed on multiple browsers to observe whether your website is running well on all different browsers.

  1. Your theme

If your website has complicated designs then it could let your website’s page speed down. This can happen because certain designed themes are heavier due to the effects involved in them, such designs can penalize the website’s page speed easily.

  1. Compact Code

The website’s page speed gets impacted when the HTML/CSS code is not that much efficient or too compact. So, not to reduce your website’s page speed you must clean up your code.

  1. File Types & Sizes

The page speed can be slowed down if you try to upload high-quality images on your website because high-quality images are heavy. So, to not reduce the page speed and also to maintain the quality you must use Jpegs for photos and PNG for visuals.

  1. External Embedded Media

Nowadays, videos, image slideshows, and music are a great source of content but to upload these on your website means to lower down the website’s page speed. The solution to this problem, in order to speed up the loading time, is to host the videos on your own server.

  1. Too many Plugins and Widgets

Most of us may not be aware of these terms or just we tend to ignore it but the plugins and widgets have a great impact on the website’s page speed. As many plugins are not up-to-date and this makes it slow down your page speed.

  1. Plenty of Online Ads

By allowing various online ads on your website can help you with money but too much of ads on your website can bother your visitors and also will lead to the lower website’s page speed. This is because online ads contain network codes based on JavaScript mostly.

The second part ends here. In the next third part of this article, finally, we are going to learn the ways of maximizing page speed.
